History

First Line Software was started by a seasoned management team. First formed in the early 1990′s in Russia, right after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the advent of the market economy, the team founded Star Software Corporation, one of the first software outsourcing firms in Eastern Europe. Star remained a stable and profitable company for many years, providing world class R&D and product development services to industry leaders such as Borland, CSC, IBM, Intel, and others.

In 2003, the company incorporated in the US and launched an aggressive growth and business development effort that propelled us into the #3 position in the region. In four short years, the company grew from about 100 employees and $3 million in revenue to 700+ global staff and $20 million, before being sold in 2007.

The First Line team has a long record of achievement in the software outsourcing industry. We built one of the very first companies in Eastern Europe to pass a CMM assessment. We earned a reputation as the local employer of choice in key regional outsourcing destinations, a critical success factor for sustainable growth. We used cutting edge software technologies in the development of commercial applications long before mainstream adoption, and built award winning applications for global industry leaders.
